Blog Hop for Scrappy Thoughts!

Good Lord it's New Years Eve! I owe some major blogging, some updating & I've got a couple new kits waiting in the wings springing to be released. But can you say exhausted? Who knew one more, big-old-grown-up one more, could throw such a wrench in a household.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic my big boy is home for Christmas but ........ geez! Sibling rivalry has gone through the roof. I'm just plum tuckered out. Not to mention that somehow that lovely World of Warcraft had fritzed my internet connection (kindly, finally, fixed by the darling husband).

Anyhoo... the wonderful designers at Scrappy Thoughts have thrown together a blog hop party for y'all! Beautiful, dark, rich colors. Fun, exciting elements. All free to you, the freebie hounds! My little contribution has four (4) rich, textured and faded papers and seven (7) elements, including:
  • 1 safety-pin cluster frame (ala my vintage ski kit)
  • 1 bow-tied ribbon
  • 3 glittery chipboard stars
  • 1 glittery chipboard moon
  • 1 glittery swirly flourish
Click on the preview to download away then hop on over to the other Scrappy Thought designers & pick up some more pieces to make yourself a free, full-size kit. Happy New Year!!!!

Introducing: Magenta Sky

Any excuse to show of my beautiful princess! This time it's to showcase my brandnew kit Magenta Sky! A little grungy, a little worn, a little torn and a burst of color. Magenta Sky is sure to add a little flair to any layout. Once again my daughter was my inspiration. The only pink in a house of blue, magenta is her color.

This kit comes with 8 worn, almost sanded looking, papers and 2 "tougher" papers, one worn & bent cardstock and a torn paper in shades of black. You'll also get a couple of torn border pieces, frames, bows, flowers galore, some leaves even a couple of sparkle trails for a grand total of 32 elements (not all pictured).
As for the beautiful LO above? Just for you I've transformed it into a Freebie Quickpage, minus the "daughter" part. You can get it here:
Magenta Sky is now on sale for 50% off through Christmas day, along with the rest of my store. And, pssssssst, go on & check it out... you never know what else you might find (wink, wink).
As always, thank you for choosing Piggyscraps Design for your digital scrapbooking needs!

Soothing Daisy was originally done in soft blues & browns. It was created to make a memory book for my dear friend Rae to help ease her pain on the loss of her beautiful baby boy. To show her we love her. And that we loved her sweet little "Daisy".

Making something with love makes it all the more special. Soothing Daisy is an amazing kit, with lots of fans. There are some beautiful LO's out there, as you can see and I just wanted to share them with you. Because I love them, and because this kit has a special place in my heart.

I also wanted to give the original papers away. I can't bring it in my heart to package the whole thing and sell it, but I do want to share them, so a very special freebie the original Soothing Daisy paper pack.

These are a couple of photos of my son with some fish that he caught whilst camping. He was very proud of his catches, especially as most of the time, he was doing better than his Dad!

Quick Freebie

A quickie for y'all! Some kind of bug has hit my house & let's just say it's so not fun. This freebie has been burning a hole in my brain, knowing it's there, ready to go, and not going... now it's gone. One load off my mind!

It's a Freebie ornament frame from my "A Quilted Christmas" kit up, on sale, at Scrappy Thoughts! Try it out, love it, buy it, LOL.

As for my kiddo, he doesn't have cancer........ WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO! He does have cysts that bear watching in his sinus cavity, and he does have pain but drugs is all we are going to do for now. I can live with that. I'd like him to be perfect & pain-free but right now no cancer is pretty damn good.

Big Announcement

Hello blogworld! Thank you all for your kinds words, comments, emails and prayers. It helps enormously each time another little bit of love comes streaming across the bandwidth. Amazing that it does, but it really does. Tomorrow is our big day and, for now, I'm leaving it at that.
In other big Piggy news, another store has taken me on as a Designer! Tamara & the gang over at Scrappy Thoughts has welcomed me with open arms and I'm pleased as punch to add them to my roster. Or is it they add me to their roster? Either way....... Wooooooooohooooooo!
To celebrate I've done a brandnew kit just for Scrappy Thoughts. Of course, it being the time of year and all, it's a Christmas one. I did try to break out of the mold a little & give it a slightly different color palette and some fun & quirky elements. Let me know if I succeeded.
There are 12 lightly-textured papers in reds, greens, browns and my favorite Piggy blue. The fabulous texture came from Tamara's own overlay (Freebie to found here)! I did some cozy plaids and to really get in the Christmas spirit, because Christmas to me is flannely pj's and cuddly quilts, I did a couple of quilted papers and tons of quilted ornaments!
To round out all the happy fun I added some quirky ornament frames, complete with little toppers and some sequin sparkly swirls (thank you Deb of Scrappin' Cop fame). Of course no kit is complete with out bows, ribbons, and some reindeer journaling notes. So I added those in too.
So run on over to Scrappy Thoughts and check it on out! And while you're there check out the beautiful work of A+ Designs, In A Fog, KittyCat Design, Meetje Designs, Moon Designs, SandraK Designs and, of course, TotallyD Designs!

Holly & Berries Frame - Freebie

Random Freebie... I've been a little MIA and I'm gonna babble a bit, so you get a freebie frame for listening, LOL. I've had a rough week+ and it' s made it hard for me to concentrate or focus on anything for longer than two seconds, or so it seems. This freebie frame is partly a result of my inability to focus. I love the frame, I love how it turned out, I love the light-dusting-of-snow effect I managed to achieve, but I couldn't parlay this one good element into a whole kit. And I really couldn't just let it sit on my harddrive doing nothing. So a freebie for y'all. And since I really did want it to be a whole kit, I've made this CU friendly. Maybe one of you can whoop it up & give it a home in a beautiful kit!
As for my troubles, I'm really not going to elaborate because to elaborate would be to just whine about my worries & fears. I will share what's driving that and I will shamelessly ask for prayers & good wishes! My #3 son, my beautiful boy, underwent some testing this week due to an abnormal growth in his neck. We get results on Monday. So send out your good vibes, your prayers, whatever you've got that it's just nothing.
Thanks guys!

SAS-y Challenge!

I'm a little slow on the uptake, but y'all have to give me that suddenly being a Designer for a store entails a heckuvalot more than designing freebies for my loyal readers. It turns out that every month Stone Accents Studios runs a series of challenges. Each challenge has a prize (aka PB, aka Posting Bonus), a prize for every, single participant!

This being digital scrapbooking, the prize is, of course mini kits (though it being December, Christmas, and all the kits are a little above mini)! Each challenge is led by a SAS-y Designer. Each designer has created a mini kit. All you need to do is complete the challenge and post in the SAS-y gallery... and, c'mon, y'all were gonna do LO's anyway!

The best part? All of us Designers work off of the same palette & theme. So all the mini kits mesh together. The more challenges you complete, the bigger a kit you walk away with... FREE!

I'm in charge of the Freestyle Challenge at SAS-y and here's my "assignment" for December:
I want to see LO's where the journaling jumps out at my eye. I want to see unique, I want to see creative, I want to see wordy. Now whether you actually get wordy & fill a whole page, journal a border full, or simply get creative. It's up to you.I am attaching a link to a little freebie on 4share **Link Expired** (now available in my store) for you... kind of a jump start for this challenge.

Unfortunately it will only be good for those of you using Photoshop, and I greatly apologize to the rest of you. It's a layered file w/text on a path. In honor of the Christmas season I choose two Christmas tree-style paths. Simply replace the "YOUR TEXT HERE" blocks w/journaling of your own & you are good to go.

And this Freebie is available to my blog readers as well! My hope is you'll join in the challenge and earn that beautiful little mini kit above, but if not, at least you got a little something out of reading all my babble!
